Laing O'Rourke is the largest privately owned construction solutions provider in the UK. The business is made up of a range of engineering, construction, manufacturing and specialist services companies. In 2011 Laing O'Rourke embarked upon an Australian construction project where they required UK professionals including Engineers, Quantity Surveyors and Project Managers.

AIM

Laing O'Rourke wanted to attract Engineers to Australia. They wanted to achieve this using a cost effective online solution in the UK.

SOLUTION

We used targeted and branded MEDIABUILDER campaigns which were supplemented with high value enhancements. The campaigns made use of banners, buttons and email alerts scheduled over a 2 month period to maximise their exposure to capture passive and active job seekers.
Online Resourcing negotiated a 50% discount on online advertisements on niche boards including Just Engineers and New Civil Engineer Online. Following telephone screening and an assessment centre, Laing O'Rourke interviewed 56 external candidates and appointed 49. 495 candidates applied online in the first 10 days with a total 1124 applicants by end of the campaign.
