Reporting to the Structural Resource Manager, the Structural Engineer will support the management of Arqiva’s structural assets within our Telecoms business. This will include the provision of structural solutions, particularly in the area of masts, towers and telecommunication buildings, to ensure structural integrity, reliability and serviceability. Key responsibilities will be to help process requests for the installation, modification and removal of equipment on our masts and towers, ensuring that their physical space and structural capacity are optimised whilst ensuring structural integrity. Feasibility reporting, wind-load calculations and design support will all add depth and variety to the role.
Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline (MICE or MIStructE) you’ll have prior experience working in a Structural Engineer role in the telecommunications or construction industries. You’ll preferably be a Chartered Engineer or actively working towards Chartered status. From technical data you’ll make rational judgements and create concise and accurate reports for senior management, customers and engineering staff. You’ll be highly IT-literate, a self-motivated innovator with a good working knowledge of CDM legislation.
