Digital Radio Engineer

Arqiva has an opportunity for a Digital Radio Engineer to work with the Radio Network Operators to undertake management of all the networks and systems relating to Digital Radio. You will have a key role providing technical support for Field Engineers, while also acting as a technical point of contact for customers on any of the DAB Multiplexing platforms and assisting in the delivery of new installations and re-engineering projects.

As Digital Radio Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• End to End Management of the Digital Radio Platform for all commercial Arqiva Managed DAB Multiplexers and associate equipment.
• First and second line support for DAB and DAB + services.
• End to End management of DAB Service Information (DAB SI) such as DAB Service following as well as other DAB data services.
• Manage revenue generation and damage limitation, and effective and efficient relations with Arqiva both internal and external customers.

A self-motivated team worker, you will enjoy being actively involved with new technologies changes relating to the radio business, providing input and technical assessment where required and adapting to any changes in the platform and ways of working; you will have working knowledge of:

• Receiver systems (Basic RF), Transmitter systems (Basic RF), Aerial systems and Electricity Supply Systems
• An understanding of Unix, Shells & shell scripts.
• General networking skills, SNMP, TCP/IP, Telnet, FTP etc
• Overall system knowledge of a Digital Radio network and a Digital Radio ensemble (including Digital Radio multiplex manager set-up)
