Service Engineer - Broadcast

To support the Team Leader in the efficient running of the Field Service, Service Centre to ensure that all transmission systems exceed performance targets whilst ensuring the team operate in a highly efficient and effective manner.

The Service Engineer is responsible for a range of tasks which include -

•Ensuring that processes and procedures are adhered to in order to maximise efficiency and consistency so that standards and quality of service is assured and best engineering practices are achieved.
•Digital and Analogue RF techniques for Video and Audio transmission, base band Video and MPEG compression and multiplex systems, DAB multiplex, and Telemetry system skills able to be deployed to a high standard.
•Analogue and digital PMR networks, including trunked radio and TETRA systems, for emergency service customers
•Ability to fault find to component level where necessary would be an advantage.
•Undertakes planned maintenance according to standard company procedures.
•Plans and undertakes corrective maintenance including diagnosing faults, evaluating problems, carrying out appropriate corrective measures and completing follow up actions.
•Assist national project team to install, commission, and perform upgrades to new or existing broadcast system. Involved in handover of projects and ensure that only high and consistent standards of work are accepted.
•Ensures outstanding technical performance, documentation and housekeeping issues are resolved within timescales agreed with Team Leader and/or processes
•Completion of accurate and concise technical reports so as to meet company, customer and ISO Quality system requirements.
•Care & management of test equipment and vehicle to company quality policy & procedures.
•Participates in 24 hr / 7 day Call-out Rota to support a range of customers.
•Efficient time management and organisational skills deployment in a multitask environment.
•Ability to observe and coach less experienced members of team, to develop their skill, provides guidance and technical support.
