Your Purpose
You will work as part of the Tax Team across IPF Digital. As IPF Digital continues to grow into new markets and with increasing variety and complexity of products, the finance team is currently evolving to ensure that there is the right level of control and technical expertise within the team. As a result, we have created a new position of Tax Expert.

You will manage the tax affairs of the digital group across a number of markets and implement the digital tax strategy. Reporting in to the digital Tax Manager and working as part of a small digital tax team in our virtual head office, as well as with finance colleagues and external advisers across a number of markets, this role is key to the successful delivery of the digital tax strategy.

IPF Digital operates across Europe, Australia, and Latin America. We are growing both the size of our business in each market we currently operate, and also planning to expand into new markets each year.

This is a permanent role based in Warsaw, Poland.

What you will be required to deliver in your new role?
• Monitor tax developments across our markets to identify potential risks and opportunities, put forward proposals as appropriate to address risks or take advantage of opportunities, and implement these proposals as required.
• Monitor capital ratios of group companies, put forward proposals for action as appropriate, and implement as required.
• Manage specific tax projects, including projects to mitigate specific tax risks or optimise tax efficiency.
• Implement and maintain a central governance framework compliant with the group standard providing oversight and controls over key tax calculations, such as tax calculations for impairment.
• Provide management, support and oversight as appropriate to the tax compliance affairs across our markets, working with finance colleagues and external advisors.
• Roll forward the digital transfer pricing documentation for all our digital markets based on templates prepared by advisors.
• Assist with calculation of the intragroup charges in line with group transfer pricing policy
• Provide assistance to the Tax Manager and the local Financial Controller in the management, support and oversight for any tax audits that arise.
• Manage the half-year and year-end tax reporting process for the digital business, including implementing and managing appropriate checks over material deferred tax asset calculations.
• Build relationships with key stakeholders within the digital finance team, and also with external advisors, across a number of markets.
• Review and provide tax input to agreements signed by the group
• Review selected tax calculations and/or returns prepared by the Financial Controller
• Model tax impact of new products and seek ways to limit unnecessary tax leakages

So, what skills, knowledge and experience do you have?

• Educated to degree level with an appropriate tax or accountancy qualification

• Strong interpersonal and communication (written and spoken) skills and the ability to articulate thoughts and solutions in a logical manner
• Happy to roll your sleeves up, pragmatic and focused – “can do” attitude a must
• Highly organised, methodical and with attention to detail
• Possess strong stakeholder management skills
• Be culturally aware and possess the ability to flex your style depending on the audience
• Fluency in a second language used in one or more of our existing digital markets (desirable)
• Ability to work with minimum supervision

• Knowledge of the core principles of international tax
• An understanding of transfer pricing issues from a technical and practical perspective
• Knowledge of IFRS tax accounting
• Knowledge of EU VAT within the financial services sector (desirable)
• In-depth knowledge of the tax system in at least one of our digital markets (desirable, Polish tax system preferred

• Relevant international tax experience, including experience in obtaining and critically analysing advice received from advisors in other countries.
• Experience in delivery of international tax projects through to implementation.
• Experience in implementing transfer pricing policy.
• Experience of calculating tax provisions under IFRS for year-end reporting.
• Experience in managing tax audits in any of our existing digital markets including defending cross-border charges (desirable).
• Experience in financial services tax matters (desirable).
• Experience of the tax systems in a number of our markets (desirable)
