Your new purpose (in a nutshell)?

To support the Data Science & Strategy (DSS) function in delivering numerous data initiatives supporting workstreams relating to IPF group change and governance processes and system developments as a key part of IPF’s data programme.

To act as a subject matter expert by identifying, capturing and documenting process and detailed data enhancements and/or improvements as part of a continuous improvement culture within the Data domain, aligning with the Data strategy & IT roadmaps.

What you will be required to deliver in your new role?
• Seek cost effective solutions to problems.
• Identifying business questions. Issues and process gaps, then determining the information and data sources needed to answer these factors.
• Lead workshops to gain understanding of business problems and shape business requirements aligning with data sources, data models and data integration processes, providing function specifications and inputs to technical design documents.
• Lead requirements definition and thinking with colleagues in other countries & functions.
• Question and challenge potential change and derive appropriate requirements for change.
• Work with unfamiliar and lightly-documented datasets to determine meaning, relationships and insights relating to business issues and/or customer behaviours.
• Seek creative & innovative solutions to business problems, aligning such solutions with Data models and integration processes
• Translate business requirements and ideas into work items, such as user stories, available in the backlog for the team, defining acceptance criteria; functional and non-funcational.
• Review and provide feedback on proposals and documentation supporting system changes to ensure solutions meet the business requirements.
• Ensure all Company standards, policies and procedures are satisfactorily met and where gaps exist, identify and initiate an appropriate plan of action to bridge these gaps.
• Joint accountability with ETL developers and architects to ensure conformance to group data governance policies regarding risk and data protection guidelines.
• Ensure all regulatory/ legislative requirements are satisfactorily met and hold others accountable for ensuring such requirements are not breached, with particular emphasis on data processing and compliance.
• Contribute to the development of the IPF/Provident project framework and advocate its use across the organisation.
• Communicate regularly regarding the status of current data initiatives.
• Obtain guidance and approval as required to advance activities and resolve issues.
• Co-ordinate activities with in-country IT, data science business teams to prepare them & their users for change.
• Matrix line management responsibility for partner and Business Analysts.
• Coach and mentor colleagues developing their own expertise.
• Works in a safe, healthy and responsible manner and promotes safe methods of operation for self, colleagues and external customers.


What skills are we looking for?

Qualifications:
• You will be Degree qualified (2:2 or above), or equivalent and ideally hold a BCS Systems Analysis & Design • International Diploma or similar and/or Agile delivery accreditation.

Skills:
• Commercial acumen, demonstrating a strong, creative analytical approach with attention to detail and ability to articulate thoughts & solutions in a logical manner.
• Proven problem-solving ability, with extensive understanding of both business processes and the data necessary to support these.
• Experienced in designing and facilitating end to end system requirements gathering workshops involving multiple functions and nationalities.
• Strong facilitation skills and experience of leading workshops
• Ability to prepare and deliver functional specifications, analysis and presentations.
• Ability to question others, shape and confirm ideas and solve problems creatively.
• Ability to manage activity and deliver value to multiple initiatives at the same time.
• You will speak fluent English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• You will be culturally aware and skilled at operating with colleagues on an international level, foreign language skills are desirable.
• Proficient in desktop tools appropriate to the role.

Knowledge:

• You will have a modern knowledge of the IT industry and its ways of working, ideally within financial services.
• You will demonstrate a strong knowledge of Systems Analysis principles, practices, techniques and tools.
• You will understand proficiently, all phases of the project lifecycle.
• You will have knowledge of different project methodologies (Waterfall & Agile) and abilities to capture and document requirements consistent with either approach.
• You will have a good understanding of Project Management principles, practices and processes.

Experience:

• Experience with product roadmap, release and iteration planning.
• Experience with different techniques for managing the product backlog, such as user story mapping and in the prioritisation of work in the backlog, such as MoSCoW and MVP and in change management
• Experience of successful working within a multidisciplinary, collaborative, software delivery teams (on-shore, offshore and near shore) to deliver bespoke software.
• You will be experienced in leading the analysis of large-scale, complex business change in a dynamic and changing environment (preferably with Financial Services experience).
• You will have a proven track record of project delivery and process improvement.
