Our Team
Our Finance Service Centre in Leeds is a large team made of up Accounts Payable, Database & Billing, Cashiers, and Business Intake. The team provide centralised support for all of the UK offices and ensure they provide a world class service to the firm’s internal and external clients. The team consists of 5 cashiers, reporting to the Legal Cashiers Team Leader.

Our Opportunity
In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely, processing of allocated Office Account and Client Account duties. You will operate both individually and as part of a team to ensure service levels are achieved according to the finance department protocols – ‘providing a world class service to the firm’s internal and external clients’.

The position involves the processing of bill related Office receipts (cheques and bank transfers) and all receipts into and payments out of the firm’s Client Accounts. You will work closely with the Credit Control team to allocate unidentified cash receipts, and will input payments via BACS, CHAPS, Faster Payments, and International Payments via various online banking systems. You will also be required to assist with reconciliation of Client and office bank accounts, monitor office credit balances to ensure compliance with SRA Accounts Rules, and will be responsible for providing management with daily treasury/ bank exposure reports. In addition to this, you will be involved in project work and will support the wider Finance team where required. Flexibility may be required, particularly at month end.

You
You must have good undergraduate qualifications (including maths) and be familiar with alpha and numeric data entry. Knowledge of both Elite and Credit Force is desirable although not essential. An understanding of SRA Accounts Rules, and an outline working knowledge of VAT, would be desirable. You’ll be someone who is able to use their initiative and takes pride in all the work you do ensuring tasks are completed in an accurate and timely manner. We’ll need you to be able to motivate yourself to work individually but also be a good team player and be prepared to support your colleagues when required.
