This is an excellent career growth opportunity for a professional HR generalist with a background in manufacturing to join a significant and growing division of a US multi-national. The company manufactures specialist capital equipment with manufacturing operations in the UK, Czech Republic and USA together with multiple service centres in other parts of the globe including the Far East and Latin America. The Company has a significant installed machine base in more than 100 countries, has a turnover of c£100 million with c350 colleagues and is growing. They would like to appoint a Divisional HR Director who will work as a close business partner to the Managing Director and the role also has a strong dotted line to the Head of Corporate HR in the USA. The role is wide ranging and offers a broad canvas upon which you can make an impact on the business. There is an established team of HR professionals in each key location and the focus of the role is to drive business success through both strategic and tactical people activities. You will set the HR strategy, implement agreed HR programmes and processes, ensure world-class talent acquisition throughout, provide performance management guidance at all levels and support the business with a pragmatic high quality HR function that works both strategically and operationally. As can be expected of a multi-national, the role will also include close interface with the US head office on corporate initiatives and global HR programmes. A candidate with a professional HR background in manufacturing and on an upward curve in their career is required. Ideally you will be at HR business partner level now and looking to step up to a director level role such as this. You will need to have a considerable intellect and operational capability with a good understanding of the broader demands of general management. You will have a good quality university degree, be CIPD qualified you must be able to demonstrate world-class HR experience gained in multi-site international manufacturing environments, ideally companies making capital equipment with associated technology development including mechanical, electrical and electronic elements and the associated people requirements for growth and also ideally businesses with a strong service and support dimension. You will need to be up to date with current best practice and be attracted by the broader involvement in the business, supporting the Managing Director as a key member of the senior leadership team. You will also be comfortable with the international travel aspects of the role and be familiar with the reporting requirements expected in a multi-national.
