Mobile Maintenance Technician (Joiner/Shopfitter bias)

Reporting to the Operations team, the Mobile Maintenance Technician (MMT) will be responsible for responding to all allocated Customer Care Team requests across the Sewell Facilities Management portfolio of Hull-based sites, on occasion providing support to our operations in the York area.

Sewell Facilities Management (Sewell FM) provide a full range of tailored, cost effective packages, for all purposes across a variety of industry sectors. This includes planned and reactive buildings maintenance services and life cycle planning, together with the provision of soft services such as front of house, catering, cleaning, grounds maintenance and site supervision.
The multi-disciplined, multi-skilled FM team is supported by a strong supply chain and specialist service partners. Sewell FM are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year via a Customer Care Team which is part of our Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) system.

Role overview
Reporting to the Operations team, the Mobile Maintenance Technician (MMT) will be responsible for responding to all allocated Customer Care Team requests across the Sewell Facilities Management portfolio of Hull-based sites, on occasion providing support to our operations in the York area.
The role will include, but not be limited to; general maintenance, small projects, minor works and repairs to building fabric and associated equipment as well as providing cover for our Facilities Officers during sickness, training, and holiday periods.
The MMT will be required to work flexibly to meet the needs of the team and take part in the out of hour’s on-call rota system.

Key Responsibilities
• Responding to all allocated Customer Care Team requests for Sewell properties
• General maintenance and repairs to building fabric and associated equipment as necessary
• Provide sickness and holiday cover across a number of properties for the on-site facilities officers.
• Liaise with and manage external contractors as an when appropriate to meet the needs of the business
• Identification and reporting/repairing of defects and maintenance requirements within Sewell properties
• Be a main key holder to Sewell properties, including responding to emergency call outs as part of the on-call rota system
• Health & safety duties; ensuring that any property worked in or attended is operated in a safe and legally compliant manner at all times
• Ensure safe pedestrian access especially during adverse weather conditions

Skills & Attributes

Essential:
• Hold a full Driving license, valid in the UK
• Joinery qualification (time served or minimum NVQ level 2 or City & Guilds equivalent)
• Have a good practical core skills together with previous maintenance experience outside of a core Joinery trade
• Have a proactive attitude towards maintaining buildings at a world class quality level
• Hold excellent communications skills and the ability to liaise with clients & subcontractors
• Have working knowledge of current Health and Safety practice
• Possess good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a variety of tasks
• Have a positive and professional attitude
• Be computer literate (Microsoft Office)
• Possess a positive approach to learning, development and progression
• Have a flexible outlook towards hours worked (some out of hours/weekend working may be required)
Desirable:
• Previous experience within a Facilities Management business
• Be First Aid trained
• CSCS card holder
