As a Turning Setter / Operator reporting to our Cell Leader, you will manufacture products to specific guidelines whilst adhering to Health & Safety legislation and company policies. Responsible for quality and for reporting any non-conformances, you will be sufficiently flexible and willing to work in various shop floor areas as required. Checking drawing numbers, data sheets and instructions, and that materials and parts are correctly identified, you will also be responsible for inspections and that batches conform to specifications.
A skilled CNC Turning Setter / Operator, you are either qualified to ONC / HNC level in Mechanical Engineering, or have served a recognised engineering apprenticeship. You must be able to set out and operate Doosan, HAAS and Miyano machine tools. Together with lean experience and an appreciation of the importance of delivering QCD in both individual and team environments, you will need a keen eye for detail allied to high levels of concentration. A strong communicator and team-worker, you can also offer:
• the initiative to resolve technical issues;
• willingness to work in other shop floor areas if required; and
• the willingness and flexibility for shift work, either full-time nights, or week about days / nights.
